Welcome to the Kings Head from the landlords Ian & Suzanne Ballantine
Please note that under the Tier 2 restrictions that
alcohol can only be sold in pubs when served at a
table with a substantial meal.
At The Kings Head,
the whole team prides itself in looking after this very 'English' village inn,
nestled on the beautiful Suffolk coastline. This historic 13th Century pub
combines all the atmosphere of a traditional inn with great real ales including
Adnams Ghostship and Blackshore Stout with a guest ale appearing periodically,
a varied wine list and a selection of Adnams and other Spirits.
Situated at the
heart of the pretty village of Orford, The Kings Head is an ideal base from
which to explore the surrounding area which is rich in history and wildlife.
With stunning walks and a beautiful coastline on our doorstep, the choice of
attractions and pursuits are countless. We are dog friendly so your four-legged
companion can also enjoy a drink or meal with you. Alternatively, you may just
wish to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax in tranquil
surroundings; enjoy wonderful food and immerse yourself in village life for a
short-while, and again we have rooms available which can provide the perfect
“pet-away” break also.
As Covid-19
Recovery begins we have reduced our menu slightly but still have your favourite
pub classics and some specials created by our innovative Head Chef Brendan
Bennett using local, fresh ingredients and vegetables grown in our own kitchen
garden. As we get used to the “new
normal” we will increase our menu and alter the specials but please bear with
us for the time being while we all get used the new rules and regulations.
Under the new
guidelines we will be offering table service only, food and drinks to be
ordered via our mobile app wherever possible and table reservations will not be
taken for the time being, we will be operating on a first come first served
basis, ordering or sitting at the bar will not be possible at the current time.
We have entrances
and exits clearly signposted both indoors and outdoors and social distancing of
2m or where this is not possible 1m+ should be adhered too. We have installed screens separating some of
the tables inside and reduced our indoor capacity greatly. We have hand sanitising stations inside and
outside.
Our three cosy and
comfortable guest rooms ensure your stay, be it a mid-week break or weekend
getaway, leave you refreshed and planning your return trip.
Why not combine
your stay with a leisurely walk around this beautiful area. This is a great
site to pick one from or do our very own walk published in The Essential Suffolk
magazine, Pub Walks with Darcy which comes highly recommend by both Darcy and
Benji, The Kings Head pub dog.
