The Team We came to Orford having gained wide-spread experience of working within, and operating, successful licensed businesses. It is now our privilege to take the reins at this charming, coastal village pub, that we’re proud to call our home. When we first heard that The Kings Head was on the market, we saw it as the perfect opportunity to realise our dream of running a quintessentially English pub. This historic pub is fondly regarded by the local community and enjoyed by a growing number of those who regularly come to Orford and the surrounding area for its bird watching, beautiful walks, rich history and stunning coast line. Alternatively, it’s the ideal place to escape the stresses and strains of modern life and just kick back.

I believe that as licensees we should be creating an environment where the community comes together and visitors are welcome. I believe that people come to a village like Orford to experience village life, which is first and foremost about its people. Essentially, we want to create a complete experience that combines beautiful rooms with an inviting, traditional pub atmosphere; where a great pint is assured and the lunch time offering keeps people keen to return. Evening time is when the kitchen is free to flex a little culinary muscle, through a menu that’s both adventurous and unique to the Kings Head.” Adrian Searing
“Having worked at some other great establishments including The Brudenell and 152 in Aldeburgh, the opportunity to work at The Kings Head was a natural progression for me. Working closely with Adrian and Susan, I’ve created a menu that uses the fantastic local ingredients we have on our doorstep to create traditional, classic British dishes – some with my own twist.” Mark Clements - Head Chef
The Thacker Family, under whom the pub was looked after in times gone by. Now, three generations of the family still enjoy a pint in their local.
