Susan, Adrian & Sam

Sam manages to cope with the fast pace of life at The Kings Head

Food and service are better than you have any right to expect in a pub, puts many a stand-alone restaurant to shame. Rooms are very comfortable, and the owners offer a warm welcome to locals, and tourists (like us). Can't imagine a better way to enjoy English village life " Charlotte, nc, USA

"I thought the food (fish pie & cheese board) was very good & very good value. I like the atmosphere here and the welcome we got. I would definitely come back and would recommend to friends and family. Nice music too!" Pauline, Scotland

"Stayed here for 1 night. Comfortable and fairly roomy double bedded room, with nice bathroom. Good breakfast and friendly staff " RJW, Suffolk

"Stayed for four nights had excellent rooms, wonderful food and a great place to celebrate our wedding anniversaries. Staff and Sam the dog very friendly" Bedfordshire, England

A warm welcome

Susan, Adrian and Sam (the faithful pub dog) welcome you to The Kings Head in Orford.

At The Kings Head, the whole team prides itself in looking after this very ‘English’ village inn, nestling on the beautiful Suffolk coastline.

This historic 13th Century pub combines all the atmosphere of a traditional inn with great real ales, classic pub lunch favourites and a more traditional evening menu, which incorporates modern British cuisine and twists on popular classics. All dishes are prepared using local ingredients where possible and subject to chef’s acclaimed, individual style.

Orford  - the perfect blend of tranquillity and English Heritage

The historic town is set around the impressive Norman castle that dates back to the 12th Century. The castle stands as a visible reminder of a time when the village had a key part to play in the country’s coastal defences; a story that can be re-lived in the museum that resides within the castle walls. Just by ambling through the streets and down to the harbour, it's easy to imagine a time gone by and with so much to see locally, such as the Havergate Bird Sanctuary and Orford Ness you are able to explore and relax in unspoilt surroundings.
