Local Attractions

Staying at The King's Head is the ideal base from which to explore the local wildlife and historic sites, enjoy stunning walks or just settle back and relax. We promise that once you’ve visited Orford, a little piece will stay with you forever.

The historic town is set around the impressive Norman castle that dates back to the 12th Century and served as a medieval residence for Henry II. The castle stands as an impressive feat of human endeavour and harks back to a time when the town had a key part to play in the country’s coastal defences. It’s a story can be re-lived in the museum that resides within the castle walls.
