Welcome to the Kings Head from the landlords Ian & Suzanne Ballantine
At The Kings Head, the whole team prides itself
in looking after this very ‘English’ village inn, nestled on the beautiful
Suffolk coastline. This historic 13th Century pub combines all the atmosphere
of a traditional inn with great real ales including Adnams Ghostship and
Broadside with a guest ale appearing periodically, a full and varied wine list
and a selection of Adnams and other Spirits.
Our daily changing menu consists of pub classics
and an array of specials with our Head Chef Danny Bunce at the helm, having
achieved 3 AA Rosettes in the past Danny brings a wealth of experience to our
kitchen and loves nothing more than preparing and cooking dishes using local,
fresh, ingredients - and don't forget, we're still doing Sunday roasts throughout the summer!
Situated at the heart of the pretty village of
Orford, The Kings Head is an ideal base from which to explore the area that
surrounds the pub which is rich in history and wildlife. With stunning walks
and a beautiful coastline on our doorstep, the choice of attractions and
pursuits are countless. We are dog friendly so your four-legged companion can
also enjoy a drink with you. Alternatively, you may just wish to escape the
hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax in tranquil surroundings; enjoy
wonderful food and immerse yourself in village life for a short-while.
Both the bar and dining room have wood-burning
stoves to warm you through even on the coldest of days, and when the sun comes
out we have both decking and garden areas to enjoy.
Our three cosy and comfortable guest rooms
ensure your stay, be it a mid-week break or weekend getaway, leave you
refreshed and planning your return trip.
Why not combine your stay with a leisurely walk around our beautiful area. This is a great site to pick one from.
